My Rating: ★★★★☆
Dial W for Witch is book twenty-two in Amanda M. Lee’s Wicked Witches of the Midwest series, following Bay Winchester and her magical, chaotic family as they navigate mystery, murder, and a bit of romance in their small town. With witches, ghosts, and an ever-present dose of family drama, this installment keeps the energy high and the stakes personal. As usual, Bay finds herself balancing magical mishaps, criminal investigations, and her relationship with Landon, all with Aunt Tillie never far behind with her own brand of wild interference.
I’ve absolutely loved this entire series, and book twenty-two was no exception. Bay and Landon’s relationship is still one of my favorites. They’re sweet, steady, and believable even when everything around them is falling apart. Aunt Tillie, as always, steals the show. From book one to now, she continues to be my favorite character. Her energy, unpredictability, and sharp humor keep the story from ever feeling stale.
What I love most about these books is how well they blend different elements: a little bit of romance, a whole lot of mystery, and a cozy magical world that feels familiar without getting boring. Even this deep into the series, I’m still just as hooked.
This isn’t really a complaint, but as someone who usually reads spicier books, the lack of on-page spice in this series definitely stands out. While the intimacy is implied and the relationships are meaningful, you don’t get any full-fledged spice scenes. So if that’s something you usually look for, just know this series leans much cozier in tone.
That said, when I want a lighter read without losing romance or magic, this series is exactly what I reach for. It’s a great break from darker, heavier stories while still keeping you engaged and entertained.
Dial W for Witch was another strong entry in a series I’ve genuinely loved from the very beginning. With a perfect mix of witches, humor, mystery, and family chaos, it’s the kind of book that makes you feel like you’re part of the Winchester clan. If you’re already a fan of the series, you won’t be disappointed and if you haven’t started it yet, now might be the time to dive in. Just maybe start at book one. You’re gonna want the full ride.
